Becoming a Registrar

If you are already an ICANN accredited registrar, you can become a .mu registrar by submitting a Registrar Application form. Potential Registrars should have an existing portfolio of no less than 100 domains to be eligible as a .mu registrar. Registrars are bound by the Registrar Agreement and Registrants who register a .mu domain are bound to the .mu Registration Agreement and the Acceptable Use Policy.

The .mu Registry is a fully automated and EPP-compliant implementation. Accredited Registrars are provided access to the registry through web access as well as EPP, so that registrants can manage their domains directly through the Registrar’s interface.

The .mu Registry uses pre-purchase credit system, where the Registrar credits (with a minimum of USD 1000) in advance before registering and renewing .mu domains.
